Harry Potter- Evaluation.

What style or feel of music did you use for the credit sequence and why?

The style of music I used was related to what was shown in the opening sequence. I decided to use the idea of "rolling thunder" sound affects as this is what was shown on the screen. The music was dark, dismal and gloomy which helped to emphasize the unfriendly looking sky and the grey clouds. The music was very low in some sections and had deep drops to allow it to seem scary and set the scene and build up the suspense allowing the audience to feel like the film was a thriller/horror with some mystery.

How effective do you think your sequence is for the credit sequence and titles only?

What style or feel of music did you use for the playground sequence and why?

Leading up to the sequence I used a natural everyday feel of music to set the scene and allow the audience to realize the mood was neutral. When the camera revealed the playground the music carried on being monotone with the earthly sounds of bugs, and people moving  but as the camera switched to show Harry the feel of the music heightened portraying his thoughts and emotions. We feel a sense of mystery and wonder what he might be feeling or thinking at that moment. The music carry's on climbing up as a group of boys come over. The tension is obvious between them and the feel of the music becomes negative and chaotic, as well as louder, deeper and stronger. This is a good reflection of his emotions and attitude towards the boys. The pace begins to speed up also helping us to understand he is beginning to loose his temper, the style of the music continues to remain gloomy and is joined with a roll of thunder which brings us back to the opening credits when we were able to sense the idea of mystery and horror.
